Frequently asked questions

What is loose leaf tea?

Loose leaf tea is whole or large pieces of tea leaves, herbs, flowers and fruit, rather than the fine dust found in most tea bags. The bigger pieces have room to unfurl as they steep, which gives you a fuller, more aromatic cup.

How much loose leaf tea should I use per cup?

Start with about 1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water. For light, fluffy herbal blends, use a heaping teaspoon to 1 tablespoon. Adjust to taste.

Which of your teas are caffeine-free?

Our herbal and rooibos blends are naturally caffeine-free, including Sleepy Night No. 09, Caramel Almond Apple No. 05 and Coconut Cream Lavender Rooibos. Browse them all in the caffeine-free teas.

How do I store loose leaf tea?

Keep it in an airtight container away from light, heat, moisture and strong smells. Stored this way, most blends stay fresh and flavorful for 6 to 12 months.
