From Recreating Society to Teatentional: A Name That Finally Fits
Share
There's a moment in every brand's journey when you realize the name you started with no longer tells the full story or maybe it never quite did. For us, that moment came when we looked at "Recreating Society" and asked ourselves: does this name tell you anything about who we are, what we do, and where we're going?
The honest answer was no.
Where We Started
Recreating Society was a name rooted in intention the idea that the way we slow down, connect, and nourish ourselves has the power to shift culture. Tea, at its heart, has always been a vehicle for that. From ancient Chinese tea ceremonies to British afternoon rituals to the shared pot between friends on a rainy afternoon, tea has long been a catalyst for community, reflection, and presence.
We believed in that vision. We still do.
But a name is a door. And "Recreating Society" was a door that didn't tell you what was on the other side.
Why Teatentional Resonates
The word Teatentional does something that most brand names can't it tells you exactly what we're about in a single breath.
Tea. It's right there, front and center. No mystery, no guesswork. We are a tea brand, and we're proud of it. Whether you're a seasoned tea enthusiast or someone just beginning to explore beyond the tea bag, you know immediately that this space is for you.
Intentional. This is where the heart of our mission lives. We don't believe in mindless sipping or mindless living. We believe in the ritual the pause, the warmth, the moment of choosing to be present. Every blend we curate, every product we offer, is chosen with purpose. Being intentional with your tea means being intentional with your time, your body, and your energy.
Together, Teatentional captures something that took us much longer to say before: we make tea for people who are paying attention.
A Name That Allows Us to Grow
One of the quiet limitations of "Recreating Society" was how broad and yet how vague it felt. It could belong to a nonprofit, a lifestyle magazine, a community organization. It had no natural home in the tea world, which meant we were always working twice as hard to establish that connection.
Teatentional gives us roots.
As a brand rooted explicitly in tea, we now have the freedom to grow deeper into the world we love exploring single-origin sourcing, expanding into wellness blends, building educational content around tea culture and preparation, and connecting with a global community of tea lovers who speak our language.
The tea industry is rich, layered, and constantly evolving. There are stories to tell about farmers, harvests, and terroir. There are rituals to explore from Japan, Taiwan, India, Ethiopia, and beyond. There are functional blends for rest, focus, immunity, and joy. Teatentional gives us a name that can hold all of that and grow with it.
The Same Mission, A Clearer Voice
This rebrand isn't a departure. It's an arrival.
Everything we believed in when we first started the power of slowing down, the shared cup, the idea that the small rituals matter is still woven into every single thing we do. We haven't changed our values. We've just found a name that finally says them out loud.
If you've been with us since the Recreating Society days, thank you. You believed in the vision before we had the words for it. And if Teatentional is how you found us for the first time welcome. You're exactly who we've been making this for.
Steep intentionally. Live intentionally. Welcome to Teatentional.
